HOW DOES THE PLATFORM'S PRINCIPLE WORK?

• Calming the currents Fast-moving ocean currents drag floating plastic particles as deep as 30 metres beneath the water’s surface, even though plastic is lighter than water and should (in slower currents) float on the surface.
• Natural draft Compared to water, plastic has a lower density. This is the characteristic that was put to use in the development of this platform. The bulbous shape of PGS and its underwater canals calm the water currents, allowing the plastic to rise to the surface using its own natural draft, where it can be easily collected. Nets or other filtration systems that put marine life at risk are no longer required.
