Aegean Rebreath is a multi-sectoral organization working on the protection and renewal of the marine environment.

Through integrated programs, we seek to change the way people interact with the sea, locally and nationally. We create synergies between coastal communities and civil society, and local, regional and national authorities working to improve our seas.

The problem of marine ecosystem pollution demands integrated and sustainable solutions. Aegean Rebreath has designed and developed a holistic circular economy model that includes the collection of marine litter from the seabed, the sea and the coasts, as well as the distribution of materials to companies involved in upcycling and active cooperation with recyclers and waste management companies.

At the same time, to prevent further waste from suffocating our seas, we work with local fishing communities and municipalities across Greece to actually build waste collection facilities, conduct environmental education courses in schools, and implement research activities. In this way, we are creating a ground swell to really change behaviours in Greece and to protect our most precious resource
